To help support Mum’s end of life care
Christchurch, Canterbury
My māmā is the strongest person I know at the moment, she puts on a brave composure every day, being a freshy, cracking jokes, but is suffering great mamae. We ask for koha to make her end of life care as comfortable as possible as heartbreaking as it is to see her suffering.
She has been battling stage 4 terminal breast cancer with fungating-tumours (google if you have the stomach for it). It has eaten away at her body, constructing her organs and she needs daily hands on care and wound changes frequently. She’s faced hardship and neglect within the medical system and as a whānau we are trying to care for her as best we can.
It would be a dream for her to return to her turangawaewae and stay there before she passes, in the short term we ask for funds for her weekly medical costs. Any money left over will help get her home and tangihanga expenses.
The cost of her dressings alone are hundreds of dollars a week. We’d also love funds to help get her home and cover funeral costs including flights for her whānau including her children and mokopuna.
Funds will be paid to my brother, Peter.
