I have been selected as 1 of 22 students to represent New Zealand at the Columbia Model United Nations and go on the Global Development Tour
Wellington
I have been selected as a part of the Global Development Tour 2018, an international trip organised by UN Youth New Zealand. The tour will take 22 students from around New Zealand to the world’s leading examples of Sustainable Development, demonstrating how the future’s key issues are being solved. The students will also be representing New Zealand at the Columbia Model United Nations Conference and Exposition, a prestigious annual event. This international youth conference is hosted by Columbia University in New York City, where students will spend a week debating a range of international issues and meeting changemakers and other dignitaries. It is my honour to be representing New Zealand at such a high level, especially after many years participating in UN Youth events regionally and nationally. I see this opportunity as a chance to not only participate in the highest level of Model UN, but also grow personally.
Travelling with a group of students and meeting with people at the forefront of development in the world is a unique and exciting opportunity. I hope that with the knowledge that I gain I can come back to New Zealand, and use my already unique perspective, to be a positive influence on my community and give back.
The month long tour around America and Europe is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me and I greatly appreciate all of your support! Every little bit makes a difference and it means a lot that people are willing to support me :)
Every person who donates over $20 will get a postcard send from one of my international destination.
Funds raised will be used to help fund the $8,200 cost for this month long trip. This includes my flights, accommodation, food and activities.
