Help our rangatahi take their voices to the world as Manu Mātātahi travels to the BHS International Chorus Contest in St Louis in June 2026.

#KiaOraStLouis! Our rangatahi are getting ready to step onto the world stage!
We’re a youth barbershop chorus from Kirikiriroa Hamilton. Our kaupapa is rooted in te ao Māori, and we’re a place where anyone can stand tall, be themselves, and find whānau through music. This year, we're travelling to the BHS International Chorus Contest with a medley of Stan Walker songs, carrying the message of staying true to who you are, even when the world tells you to fit in.
After winning the BHNZ Open Chorus Contest with a score of 88.0 and receiving both Most Improved and Audience Choice, we realised we were living our wildest dream and would have the honour of representing Aotearoa at the BHS International Chorus Contest.
For many of our rangatahi, this will be their first international contest, and for some, their first time ever leaving the country. It’s a once‑in‑a‑lifetime chance to grow in confidence, experience the world, and connect with barbershoppers who share the same passion. Your generosity will help fund our chorus costs, such as coaching, hire of rehearsal space, registration costs, and buses while we are in the USA.
From all of us at Manu Mātātahi, thank you for standing with our chorus and our kaupapa.
Harmony Waikato exists to promote the enjoyment of barbershop harmony. We provide vocal education to our members and entertainment for the public. Our Charity provides umbrella services to two barbershop choruses, Mighty River Harmony and Manu Mātātahi.
