A place for our supportive community to help us care for the animals and regenerate the land.
Northland
As any of our followers will already know, Ruby and I are passionate and committed owners of Mānuka Valley Farm. So far it has been a long, hard and expensive two years building and running our dream regenerative homestead. Ruby has been working full time to finance the dream, while I have been working part time to help with the finances while also full time outside looking after the animals and the land.
Recently, we've had a number users ask us if we take donations to help with the running of the farm, feeding the animals and rescuing more animals. This is not something we had ever planned on doing, but it does seem like the right time to open ourselves up to the support of our wonderful community. Any funds donated to us would be spent on only farm related items. In large part this will mean feed and bedding for the animals, but it would also help with Veterinary costs which can be crippling, but occasionally we would be able to add a new member to our family of rescue misfits.
Adding a member would be our first order of business as Koco needs a Dexter friend that he can safely play with. We have identified a little lady called Pepper who we are hoping to bring to Mānuka Valley Farm to join Koco and Amelia. She will become part of our herd and our family, living her best life here at Mānuka Valley Farm. Full disclosure, all our animals are pets and will never be used for eating or commercial breeding.
Animal Feed, Animal Bedding, Veterinary Bills, Shade and Fodder Trees and occasionally new rescues.
How your money was spent! 25 May 2023
Hi everyone,
We just wanted to let you know how the money you donated was spent.
For those who gave to Maui's cause. - We got a range of new blood tests that revealed her Kidneys are failing. The vets can not say how long it will be before she needs to be put down. It could be weeks, months or years. The good news is that she is doing really well at the moment, with no signs that she is unwell. We have also spent some of the donation money getting her supplements to help keep her kidneys stable.
For those who donated to the farm, we bought hay for Amelia, Koco, Pepper and the sheep, which will help us get through the winter. And a couple of bags of duck feed.
Thank you so much, we are over the moon with the generosity of this community.
We hope everyone and their own fur babies are doing well.
All the best, Ruby and Tristan
