We Need Your Help to get a New Roof

The Manukau Cruising Club Inc was first formed in 1922 by a group of boat owners frustrated by restrictions placed on yachts and launches on the Manukau by local officials. From that small acorn of dissent the Manukau Cruising Club has grown into an organisation dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the Manukau Harbour as a resource to be enjoyed by all.

Situated on Orpheus Drive in Onehunga the club sits on the shores of the harbour next to the recent $30 million foreshore development overlooking Mangere Bridge. With the future development of the nearby port facility being one of city council’s top two regeneration priorities the club lies right in the heart of one of Auckland’s new hot spots.

Designed with floor to ceiling windows to make the most of the magnificent views of the Manukau Harbour, out to the Tasman Sea is what makes the club Iconic in NZ and overseas.

We are in desperate need of a new roof and some refurbishment throughout . We are coming up to the Centennial Celebrations and must preserve this wonderful building .
