Help Maria compete in the Para-athletics World Marathon Champs as part of the London Marathon
Wellington
On April 26th 2015, Maria Williams will be the first New Zealand blind woman to compete in the Para-athletics World Marathon Champs as part of the London Marathon.
Her guide and coach, two times World Mountain Running Champion and a former New Zealand Sports Woman of the year Melissa Moon will be there to help achieve this inspirational goal with Maria who lost her sight 13 years ago.
All funds raised will help them get to the start line and enable Maria to create history, do New Zealand Proud and inspire other unsighted New Zealanders to take on similar challenges in their lives.
Thank you 25 July 2015
Thank you very much for all your generosity and messages of support. I completed the marathon in 3 hours 44 minutes which I was very happy with this time.
Thru the whole run I carried your enthusiasm and support with me and this inspired me to keep going and get a good time.
Melissa is a great motivator and was so enthusiastic thru the whole race, I could not have done this without her.
Bring on Rio 2016!!!
