On Monday 8th February a Pukekawa family lost their home to fire. Please give a little to help them back on their feet.
Auckland
In the late evening of Monday 8th February our lovely home caught fire and was burnt to the ground taking with it all that the house contained. Fortunately Mark woke up in time to alert us all. He tried to fight the fire but as soon as the windows started to pop, the fire just consumed the house. We escaped with a dressing gown, pair of trousers and a cellphone between the three of us. We are humbled by the kindness of everyone. At present we are very much in the shock and grief state and are spending time at the house just sifting through the ashes for the smallest of treasures.
We have quickly discovered that insuring for the value of one’s home does not cover replacement cost, so we are particularly grateful to those in the community and our family overseas who have requested a way to help us. To that end we have humbly accepted the help of our friend Donna to set this page up so they can help. We are overwhelmed by your kindness. Thank you everyone
