Massey Park Pool Treadathon / Water Safety Day

On Sunday 9th July, Massey Park will be holding a Water Safety Day and tread-a-thon.

We were motivated by the recent International Water Safety Day and some of the facts and information that was published. We would like to work together as a Community to support reducing the number of drownings within New Zealand, through knowledge, activities and donations.

Our aim between 8am - 4pm is to have min. 5 people at all times treading, floating or doing an activity in the deep. This is a chance for the community to come and 'challenge' themselves, to see how long they, their family and Friends can stay afloat in Deep Water.

We have 2 of our staff that have set the target to tread for the full time (minus toilet, food and drink breaks). Please support them and others, in this challenge to promote 'Staying Afloat'

Then from 4pm - 6pm, we will have Water safety stations like - option to fit and swim in a life jackets, flipping out of a boat, floating with a range of equipment, rescues and using the lazy river, to continue to share knowledge and safe practices, in different water environments.
