Matakana Community Tennis Club
We are fundraising to cover our newly laid community tennis courts with astro-turf.

Matakana Community Group has engaged with Auckland Council to provide newly laid tennis courts for the use of the 100+ year old Matakana Tennis Club situated at Jubilee Park on Matakana Valley Road in Matakana, 1 hour north of Auckland.
The club has been dormant for a while but a small group of tennis lovers in the community have decided that the courts will be the genesis of a community space facilitating outdoor activity and a sports hub for the area.
The vision for the Jubilee Park space includes expansive planted areas, club rooms, and a skate park amongst others.
Auckland Council's policy is that in providing funding for the refurbishment of the courts, they only bring them back up to their former standard, in this case that doesn't include covering the courts with astro-turf to provide a club and community grade facility.

We're involved because we enjoy outdoor activities including tennis and to provide the momentum for a quality outdoor activity space for our community for years to come.
About us
The Matakana Community Group is an incorporated society with a charitable status. Our Group is involved in a wide range of community activities including town planning matters that affect the future of Matakana and its environs, traffic management issues, community events and community projects and we work hard at engaging constructively with our Auckland Council, Local Community Board representatives.
Use of funds
Funds will be used to bring the newly laid ashphalt tennis courts up to club and community standard.
