Matarangi Community Trust fund to help get Matarangi back on its feet after Cyclone Gabrielle
Matarangi, Waikato
Cyclone Gabrielle has caused extensive damage to property and our environment. Those trapped are doing an amazing job putting things back together but there will be those who need financial assistance and community assets that will need rebuilding.
For those of us unable to help with the clean up, we can still play our part.
The Matarangi Community Trust has set aside some funds to help members of our community get back on their feet. We are inviting anyone who wants to support members of the community and contribute to rebuilding projects in the wake of Cyclone Gabrielle, to please donate via this page.
So many people are doing so much to get things moving in Matarangi. If you want to help, this is one easy way that you can. Any left over funds, will be used for the community under the Trusts umbrella.
Please help the Trust to help the community.
A community trust formed to preserve and improve the Matarangi community and its environment.
The Matarangi Community Trust will administer the funds and provide grants to those in need in our community. We will also look to fund projects to re-establish community assets and build resilience for future events. Any left over funds, will be used for the community under the Trusts umbrella.
Thank you 17 March 2023
Thank you all for the generosity you have shown. We have raised over $7,000 which the Trust will match from previous reserves. We are in the process of pricing and acquiring generators, pumps and chainsaws and allocating funds to groups who are doing restoration work around the dunes and the bluff track.
Thank you again for adding so positively to our community. We really appreciate it.
