Help two university students create an amazing short film about non-traditional relationships in an expectant society.
Auckland
Hi there! We are Yin Yee Low (writer/director) and Kevin Brownlee (producer). We are filmmakers in our third and final year of university and are making this film titled - "MATCHES MADE" as part of our final year project.
"MATCHES MADE" is a short comedy film surrounding miscommunication in a relationship between Paula Owens and her asexual girlfriend, Magdalyn Davies. Paula and Magdalyn have been in a budding relationship for three months now but Paula is left floundering when all her hints of initiating sex has been rebuffed. On the night of their three month anniversary, Paula feels tonight is the night but is instead surprised by her girlfriend's coming out as asexual. Throughout the film, Paula and Magdalyn have to deal with their meddling friends, and learn that they were happy together the way they were all along.
This story means a lot to both Kevin and I, as we both feel very strongly about the topics discussed in this film. Asexuality as a whole does not have as much representation as other sexualities and is often misunderstood or overreacted to.
We need your support in order to make this film the best that it can be. Any support, be it through donations, a little or a lot, or even helping us share this link with your circle of friends and families, brings us one step closer to our goal.
Funds will be used primarily for transporting actors and crew, and paying for expenses while filming such as use of locations, costumes and feeding the crew. Money left over will be used to submit our film to various film festivals.
Shooting has wrapped! 16 September 2018
We finished shooting yesterday and now we are moving onto post-production. Without your funding this would not have been possible so thankyou very much. However we still haven't met our funding goal so if you could share our page with your friends and family that would go a long way.
Thank you all.
