Mateja's unexpected cancer diagnosis

Mateja was diagnosed with Cancer - Burketts Lymphoma in late 2024. This diagnosis came suddenly for her over 2 short days.

Mateja had to put a hold on her very active and outgoing life to fight this aggressive form of Cancer and begin treatment without delay. She's had initial admissions to ICU and the High Dependancy Unit for a few weeks while continuing 4 months of chemo, scans, multiple spinal taps and blood transfusions in Auckland City Hospital. Where she will continue a long 6+ months of recovery time. This has made it very difficult for her being away from home, friends and much loved family.

Mateja is a very outgoing young 21 year old who is always giving back to others. She has a Diploma in Youth Work where she continuously gives back to the younger generation of Whangarei and Kaitaia to make a difference. Mateja has had to periodically give up a lot of this during her treatment. Unfortunately she has also lost all of her long beautiful hair in the process of treatment, we would love to buy some top quality real hair wigs to make her feel beautiful and feminine as she recovers. We would love to give back to this young woman and create an experience/trip for her to enjoy when she recovers. Any extra funds will go towards unexpected gas money and accommodation costs for her family to travel to her in support.
