Help Matthew to Canada with New Zealand Choir

Hi there, my name is Matthew Wood, I am 18yrs old and have just finished five fantastic years at Selwyn College in Auckland. I have a passion for singing and have been given many opportunities throughout School life to perform on stage with choir and through school musicals.

In 2015 the New Zealand Secondary Schools Choir held nationwide auditions and I was delighted and honoured to be offered a place with this prestigious national choir, singing bass. The choir consists of 60 members from 38 different schools throughout New Zealand. We have been touring New Zealand performing in Auckland, Waikato Cathedral and had the pleasure of performing in Christchurch with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.

The reason for my fundraising page is that the choir has been invited to perform in Canada at the International Choral Kathaumixw in July 2016. To enable me to attend this international event I need to fundraise $4,200. So far I have managed to raise $1,200 through bake sales (thank you Selwyn teachers & students), garage sales and a sausage sizzle but still have the remaining $3,000 to go. If you would like to contribute in any way I would appreciate it greatly.

Other ways to help is to share this with friends and family. Do you or your parents work for a company that have a community fundraising pot that support local causes?

I will be holding another garage sale in the near future so any unwanted items I can sell would be greatly appreciated.
