    Right! So first off I have to say how amazing it is that we have raised an absolutely outstanding $10,000 for Matthew! Thank you all so much for your very generous donations. A big thank you again has to go to the Sky tv team in Entertainment Content who raised a pretty staggering $687 with their raffle! Matthew is glad to be out of hospital and continuing to recuperate at our parents place. He's had a lot of pain to do with the cast and the positioning of his knee since the operation and this has worsened over the last few days so he needs to go back to see the surgeon tomorrow. I know the car ride was a (much) less than enjoyable experience for him last time, so here's hoping that it's better tomorrow and that the surgeon can sort out all the issues. Thanks again!

  • Update for 14/09/2014

    Alright.. Lots of activity since the last update! Matthew had a good day yesterday, they managed to get the pain under control and there were no major issues with nausea either - much better than Friday! And.. today he got to come home. He left the hospital at about 10am. The car trip was very unpleasant for him but he's very glad to be home and looking forward to catching up with people soon. Matt will stay at Mum and Dads place for the next little while so if you would like to come and visit just get in touch with Matt or Mum and Dad.

    Hey everyone, It was a bit of a tough day for Matt today... He had a lot of trouble with nausea this morning which meant that they decreased his pain meds quite a bit and also gave him some sedatives to try to sleep it off. It's all a bit of a balancing act but hopefully now they're back on the right track. Looking forward to tomorrow being a better day!

    Wow, first of all we have to mention the huge effort from Matt's Sky tv family with their amazing contribution from the bake sale and busking today. Thank you all so much for your generosity, it looks like it was a great day! I know Matthew is pretty overwhelmed with all of the love that he's been receiving and I think it will take awhile to really sink in, but it is a great help and we are all so grateful! They've got him up out of bed and on the crutches a few times today. Getting his balance sorted is going to take some time, but he is doing really well. They took out the three pain block drips in his leg, as well as taking him off the ketamine drip too but they seem to be pretty on top of the pain and Matthew seems to be in good spirits.

    Hey Guys, So almost 24 hours since he got out of surgery and it's been a big day! The Doctors have all been trying to stay on top of the pain relief (to mixed success). They got Matt out of bed a bit earlier too which was pretty exhausting for him.. Safe to say that Matts sense of humour wasn't located in his left foot! The first words he said after coming out of surgery were ""They cut off my foot, I don't think it's going to grow back..""

    Quick Update : The surgeon just phoned. He is on his way to recovery. All went well and we should be able to see him in about an hour

    Hey everyone, Matt went into surgery at about 4pm. He was nervous, but in good spirits. They've warned us that the next few days will be pretty tough but we know Matt will push on through..     Wow! We are feeling so overwhelmed and grateful at the outpouring of love and support that you have shown Matt since we put this page up, thank you all so much. Matthew had an appointment with his surgeon today and the operation has been set for next Tuesday, 9th September at Mercy Hospital. We'll make sure to keep updating this page throughout =)
