Our baby boy's liver is failing and he's in Starship waiting on answers as to why so we can move forward with a treatment plan
Southland
On the 7th of June our 6 week old son Maverick was rushed to Kew Hospital, Invercargill with severe jaundice and a distended stomach. All they could tell us is that his liver was failing and we were going to be transferred upto Starship Hospital, Auckland and be staying in the Ronald McDonald house.
Maverick spent the first five days in PICU undergoing several tests and procedures. He then got transferred upto one of the wards where he has remained, with still no answers as to why his liver has failed him. The doctors have told us it's going to be a long road to recovery and could take weeks or months to get the answers we need for our boy.
Due to all the unknowns we are hoping to be able to relieve some of the financial pressure we are experiencing from being up here. We aren't the type of people to ask for help but sometimes you just have to look at the bigger picture and swallow your pride.
Thank you
Much love Tori, Todd and Maverick
Funds would go towards living costs of being in Auckland, transport costs and allowing Todd to be able to take more time off work to be up here with us
