Today I am extremely happy to mark the end of my ‘journey’ and share that I am officially discharged from the cancer clinic! After having a mastectomy a few weeks ago, the post-surgery tests have come back 100% CANCER-FREE!

Seven months ago, I reached out online asking for help so that I could receive the same standard of treatment that is available for free in other countries. This was an uncomfortable feeling for me but the fear of cancer, as something so unknown in my life, was more uncomfortable.

To go from Stage 3 breast cancer to nothing within 6 months was the “best case scenario”, and it ran true for me. I followed the treatment plan and did everything the specialists recommended. With other people’s money on the line, the pressure was on to succeed! And it sure was a success 😊

I am a Mother, Fiancé, Daughter, Sister, Aunty and friend with a whole life ahead of me. My gratitude goes out to you for your generosity, which all played a part in ensuring I have many more years to spend with my loved ones. I could never say thank you enough for the amount of money that was raised, but please know that we are eternally grateful!

Thank you sooo much to everyone for donating towards making this treatment possible!! My family and I cannot be more grateful! 🙏🏼 I am speechless at how many amazing people I have in my life who have reached into their hearts to support me, and even the generosity of strangers 🥺

I am into my third week of chemotherapy now, out of a 6 month period. I also had my first round of Keytruda last week, funded by my lovely parents, which is recommended for 12 months if I can fund the full $100k! I am on my road to recovery, getting used to the new routine and schedule, and am feeling good so far.

You may have heard that Keytruda is now being funded by the government. This is amazing news for many cancer patients, however it is only funded for Stage 4 but not Stage 3 for my type of cancer. Regardless, this treatment is the international standard for Stage 3 triple negative breast cancer, and has been the standard of care in the UK for 15 years with good survival rates. So I am dedicated to giving myself the best shot I have, especially for my kids ❤️
