Medical Gears for Hubei Hospitals

  • 2/2/2020 update

      2 February 2020

Good News, we sent our 100 Q-Tech 3000 coveralls to China yesterday, and Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital has got them this morning. They said a few days ago they had only 6 coveralls left, and our coveralls was absolutely precious.

    Thanks everyone, we did it.

For other 149 coveralls, as the upcoming entry ban, we are not sure if we are able to send them out. However, we will still try our best and I will update when we get more information.

    30/01 update

    About coveralls we have ordered:

Thanks for everyone’s help, we have ordered 249 coveralls in total. 149 of DuPont Tyvek 500 Xpert (meets EN14126 Type 5B/6B) and 100 of Q-TECH 3000 (meets EN14126 Type 4B/5B/6B).

We have researched heaps of information about the international standards that overseas coveralls should meet, and both of them should be having a great chance for doctors to use.

As requirements can change from time to time, what we did is we ordered two different types of coveralls. For DuPont one, as its an international recognised brand, the quality can be assured (this is the only DuPont we were able to purchase in New Zealand that meets EN14126 standard). Also, I do know a hospital can accept this, so even if other hospitals refuse this one, we can still transfer them to this specific hospital (not in Hubei) to get them into use.

For T-Tech one, it meets higher standard which is Type 4B, so the quality is not a problem. The only thing is this brand might not be heard by hospitals in China, so there is a risk that they might need time to check or even refuse it, and this is why though compared to DuPont one, even this meets a little bit higher standard, we can’t take this brand as the only one.

    About delivery of those coveralls:

DuPont: We are expecting to receive them in Auckland next Monday or Tuesday (03/02-04/02).

Q-Tech: They have been dispatched today, we are expecting to receive them tomorrow till next Monday.

About hospitals we are aiming at:

We will try our best to send our coveralls to Hubei Hospitals (since this is the aim when we started our fundraising), however, if later we find sending our goods to hospitals that is not in Hubei will be more practical (say, our goods may have a greater chance of being accepted and used by doctors), we might do that way as I do believe that the first priority for everyone is that our coveralls can be actually used by doctors and nurses in China, as whichever city, we are a union after all. If that happens, I will let you know as early as possible.

Thanks again for all of your support.
