Waikato

THE CARELESSNESS OF OTHERS HAVE LEFT THIS BEAUITIFULL DOG WITH AN OPEN WOUND ON HIS LEG AND NEEDING URGENT SURGERY.

Little Kruiz had a ruff start to life, born a stray, he was found in a rubbish bin, rescued and raised with love. Now four years old he is the apple of his mums eye.

Kruiz is a constant companion support for his mum.He is a loving, gentle and protective boy.He would travel with her to work everyday as she visited supermarkets and bottle stores as a merchandiser. Sadly, like so many other kiwis, she lost her full time role due to covid and has only managed to find casual work of around 13 hours per week since.

On Saturday January 2nd, Kruiz and his mum went to the local food pantry based by the university to help them through the week.On the way home, Kruiz was let out for a run to do his buisness along the outside of the uni feilds. During his play there he suddenly cried out in pain and dropped to the ground. His mum rushed to where he fell and was horrified to discover one of his back legs deeply wounded and bleeding profusely. Near to where he fell she found a broken bottle half buried in the ground, with the broken, sharp end exposed. This is what poor Kruiz had caught himself on. He was unable to walk and she was unable to carry him. Thankfully another member of the public was able to help lift him into her car and wrap his leg with a towel to try to stop the bleeding.

Kruiz' current condition means 24 hour supervision. Since his mum was not able to continue to afford to pay for this at the vet hospital, she has has to step down from work in order to care for her beloved pet at home. He is currentley bandaged and on pain medication but still has the open wound on his leg.The concern about tissue dying and infection is very real, so the sooner we can get this lovely boy his op the better.

Working with the family vet, his mum has managed to find a surgeon in Auckland who has quoted $8000 for the surgery and after care. We urgentley need a minimum $5000 raised before the operation can take place. Kruiz mum has cleared out the last of her savings from the covid benefit to pay for his emergency care and is now asking you all to help.

8000 is a massive bill to face for anyone, so please, help this loyal dog keep his leg and continue the life he deserves.
