Melissa & Lockie

I have created this page to help out a really good friend and her son have that magical Christmas that they deserve after enduring a pretty rough 2015.

Melissa is a single mum who works 2 shifts a week on the weekends (16 hours in total) and then is also receiving a solo parent benefit. Once the bills and rent are paid she is roughly left with $100 to buy Lochlan his baby essentials, food etc.

Melissa had also been experiencing a health issue that she had to endure for over 5 years, this has caused a large toll on family, friends and Melissa's work. Melissa was in and out of hospital and her cupboard filled with pain killers. Finally on 31st October the hospital finally stepped and took responsibility and Melissa was in having the needed surgery. Melissa has recovered very well after this surgery and is a lot happier.

Melissa is the type of person who will always step out and help others in need, that's just who she is.

About 4 - 5 months ago Melissa lost a very close friend to Cancer, Melissa set out and done some fundraising and raised nearly $5000 for her friend and family. The condition was that once Melissa raised enough funds she would shave all her hair off in honour of her friend. On the day of Melissa's hair shave her friend passed away, it destroyed Melissa but Melissa still went ahead and shaved off all her hair as it was a promise and she never breaks promises.

This has all taken a large toll on Melissa and is recently on medication to help her get through it all.

Christmas is just around the corner and I know this is giving her a headache as she is unable to give her son that Christmas every kid should have due to insufficient funds.

I know there is a lot of families and people out there suffering with health issues and finical difficulties and I send thoughts and prayers out to you all and hope that just someone is out there helping you in every possible way.

With your help we could give this mother and son a magical Christmas filled with smiles and happiness and no worries.
