Beloved parents/grandparents lost their home, pets and belongings in a devastating fire
Taipa, Northland
Our dearest parents/grandparents Kevin and Susie lost their home in a devastating fire this afternoon 16/06/2025. Not only have they lost their home and all their belongings but their dearest pets too.
Everything they built, their home that their grandchildren have grown up with has burnt to the ground with only the front steps remaining.
Our parents are the type of people who will literally give the clothes off their back for people in need and now that’s all they have.
Money will not bring back their pets or their memories but it’s a start to try get by for now while they work out where they go to next.
Thankfully they have insurance. Assessor’s are making their way along with fire inspectors. Everything is a waiting game and a case of “where do you start?”.
Thank you everyone from all over the world, coming together and helping in this incredibly difficult time.

From Kevin and Susie 8 August 2025
Kevin and Susie would like to follow up with all the generous donations to the give a little page set up by their children Jessic, Courtney and Matthew.
They have now settled into what was a craft building Susie had and is now a functioning tiny home. They move forward each day with a positive attitude as life now returns to a new normal.
Susie said the donations have helped them purchase items that had not already been kindly donated by local agencies and charities for example, a laptop so Kevin could continue his business, a generator so they can have power to the tiny home, a portable toilet until a new ablution block could be assembled, replacement keys for their vehicles as they were in the house. A new transformer as the restoring permanent power to the site becomes a reality has been another cost that was able to be covered by the donations. There are so many more little day to day items and replacing working clothes for Susie and safety items for Kevin’s work.
None of this was possible without your generosity and has eased the financial burden they have endured while waiting for the slow insurance process to take its course, which is still in an assessment phase.
Thank you and blessings to you all
With love Kevin and Susie
