Mums farewell

Wellington

On 13 April 2026, our beloved Mum, Mereana Tomlyn (nee) Wawatai passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind her tamariki, whānau, and many people who loved her deeply.

Sadly, Mereana did not leave behind an estate or financial support to cover the costs of her tangihanga, funeral services, and burial plot in Levin. Her children are now doing everything they can to give their mum the farewell she deserves — one filled with dignity, love, and respect.

We are reaching out to our community, friends, and extended whānau for support during this incredibly difficult time. Any koha, no matter how small, will go directly toward funeral expenses, burial costs, and helping ease the financial burden on her children as they navigate this loss.

If you are unable to donate, we would be truly grateful if you could share this page and keep Mereana and her whānau in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and aroha during this heartbreaking time.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
