Help Manawatū GymSports secure their Forever Home and allow them the security to keep providing a space for everyone to grow.
Palmerston North, Manawatu-Wanganui
Manawatū GymSports (MGI) has a long history of providing Palmerston North with recreational gymnastics for everyone. Over the years we’ve ensured accessibility for the whole community by keeping costs down, a decision that has seen us grow consistently to service over 1,200 children per term across the region as enrolled members and a further 350+ per week of casual users from PlayGym to homeschool to provider groups. In order to continue doing this, we need assistance in securing a forever home and provide us with security for the future.
It is our commitment to inclusivity and community that is the backbone of our club; we've created classes for children with physical and intellectual disabilities/special needs, both in a 1-on-1 and group format. We also offer a class taught entirely in Te Reo, continuing to ensure everyone has a place where they can participate in sport and form connections.
Bring on the MGI Forever Home Project! Behind the scenes the team at Manawatu GymSports has been working hard fundraising and securing funding to finally secure our own place. While we’ve locked in some of this, we need a final push to get us over the line. As such we’ve put together this page to help bring the community with us on this journey.
We are purchasing a building for our gymnastics club. We have secured most of the funding and are raising the remaining amount needed to complete the purchase.
We are making progress, but we still need the help of our community 20 May 2026
Thank-you so much to everyone who has donated through this page. We are closer to our goal and have been given an extension to the settlement to give us the best chance of ensuring gymnastics can continue in the Manawatu.
Really appreciate this, and your support in general! Thankyou. (Kim)
