Michael needs to get a specialized van so he can get driven around. You can only tear up so many streets in your electric wheelchair.
Southland
In February 2020 The Cockroft families world came to a crushing halt with the diagnoses they were dreading Michael only 34 had Motor Neuron Disease. (MND)
Since then, Michael, his wife Lara and 4 year old Charlie Louise have relocated to mighty Invercargill to be closer to Michael’s family.
He has also slowly lost the ability to walk very far and spends the majority of his time in an electric wheel chair. This has given him great freedom to move about house and zipping around as far as the local streets and his battery will take him.
To keep Michael laughing and moving along with his 4 year old and wife he needs a Mobility van. Due to it needing to accommodate an electric wheel chair these vans don’t come cheap.
When you have MND you world becomes incredibly small when your body loses functions
Michael is a loving husband and Dad and is determined to get out there making as many memories as possible with his young family.
They have managed to raise some funds but need some help getting across the line.
Please help them make memories today.
Best friend of this family unit. Love these guys times a million.
Funds will be used to help purchase a specialised vehicle that can carry his electric wheelchair as mobility is not enough to use a manual one. Any funds over what they need will be used to help Michael with any other MND needs.
