Michelle is 37yrs old terminally ill with 4 boys 12,7,5 & 5. She needs help. We have tried everywhere this is our last resort. Please help
Michelle is now 37, 5yrs ago was given 7-10yrs life expectancy after 2 tumors were found, techinical name is oligodendroglioma. She can no longer drive a car or work; she has no help or support from the Government or social services. Even the task of getting the children to school every day is not easy. I am on a benefit myself so am unable to. Michelle has a kind heart reflected when earlier this year she took in a little 4yr old maori boy who she loves and treats as one of her own (he also calls me nana!). Brain tumour sufferers are usually old people so there is no help set up for people her age. My youngest is special needs & was entitled to get taxi service to school and back daily- as Michelle is unable to drive I tried to get this for her children but due to governments strict rulings they don't qualify. The school is too far for them to walk so she has to rely on friends she has at times walked them to school herself which takes over an hour & is uphill most of the way,. A long walk for the youngest being just 5.
Michelle suffers from acute headaches yet won't take morphine for pain relief as it inhibits her caring for the children. The brain tumours mean she has seizures at times which is especially worrying when she is home alone with just the children. I have tried to get help for her from various sources every turn I hit a wall. I live on the other side of Auckland am myself always broke, Michelle's story is a tragedy in one so young she is a good daughter a kind and loving mother who despite her own circumstances still puts others before herself.
To move house & be able to pay for taxies to get the boys to school & take them out spend quality time with her children while she can.

I am Michelle's mum. Michelle is only 37 & shortly after her 3rd son was born (he's now 5yrs) she was diagnosed with inoperable brain tumours & given 7/10yrs to live. Michelle has a kind heart; despite her own needs earlier this year she took in another younger little maori boy at her own cost who she loves & treats as one of her own. Michelle is not happy wants to leave her husband is unable to work has no income of her own & WINZ won't help her.
