On 26 March 2014 I was flown from Hastings Hospital to Auckland Hospital for a EBUS bronchoscopy. Aspiration performed with provisional cytology reported as high grade malignant material. I was seen acutely in private sector, Urgent medical attention was required and I was sent to Auckland Hospital for admission on 28th March 2014.. two days out from my 49th birthday.. Primary Diagnosis Large cell Neuroendocrine tumour - lung origin. So close family and friends were told of the news and as sad as it was we gathered together and tried to make sense of it all.. and saw doctors to see where we go from here..... Having my birthday in ward 64 was on the top of my family's list and that we did WELL 5 birthday cakes, lots of people, the ward wad full I shared all the cakes with everyone in hospital.... it was fantastic... the ward staff were amazing thank you ward 64 Auckland hospital.....

Hello family and friends, well it has been a long long long long time and I have been so ill for all of it.....and on heavy medications for all this time making it very hard to concentrate let alone write.. I am going to write my story from the beginning hoping you will all understand it a little better. On 17th March 2014 I went to Hastings Hospital complaining of acute headache and a feeling of partial seizures. Getting to the bottom of it a Chest Xray with CT Scan was performed and detected a large tumour mass approx size (5.1x5.3x5.3) causing compression of SVCO...and right apical lung. Diagnosis: Disseminated high grade malignancy involving large pre tracheal mass cavitating right apical lung lesion for acute admission due to impending compression of SVCO, trachea and oesophagus. Potential bone/brain metastases. SAY WHAT A MOUTHFUL... PS: I will write is stages as to not loose all the information..thanks meesh
