Hi everyone, Mikyla here. Sorry it has been a while but I wanted to update you all as I near 1 year since diagnosis. On June 24th, I received my stem cell transplant at Auckland City Hospital thanks to a lovely anonymous donor in Germany. This was very tough on my body but after 2 months, I was able to return home. Since then I have been in recovery mode! There have been many ups and downs and we expect that to be the case for a while as my new cells and body grows stronger. On October 20th, I got the news that my biopsy results had come back all clear and I was officially in remission! My family and I are so relieved and hope it stays that way forever. I can’t thank you all enough for your kind messages and very generous donations over the past year, it just means so much and we would not have been able to get by without your support. So again, thank you all. I know a lot of you follow my journey on Facebook/Instagram so I will continue to keep you updated but in the meantime, have a fabulous summer! Love, Mikyla x

Great to hear that you’re in remission. I worked with your mother Jacqui at Waikato ED. Best wishes!

Hi everyone, Mikyla here. I just wanted to say the biggest thanks to each and every one of you for your kind words and donations. It means the world to my family and I and has helped so much already. I have finished my 4 rounds of chemo - it’s been a tough 5 months but I got through it and am feeling good at the moment. The next step for me in terms of treatment is a stem cell transplant. The huge waitlist for this has caused a delay as they originally wanted to do it in February but fingers crossed they have a place for me soon! It will no doubt be tough but it’ll be worth it. Thanks again for your continued support xx

To all you extremely wonderful, generous donors out there....we are absolutely overwhelmed with the love and support that has come through in the last few days.

Your generosity is beyond words and we cant express how truly grateful we are to every single one of you!

Mikyla is doing well. Still recovering from her first round of chemotherapy. She has such a positive attitude and we know thats going to get her through the next few months.
