Awhi and support the whānau through the emotional and financial strain of searching for a missing man in the Waioweka River Opitiki
Bay Of Plenty, Opotiki District
Hi everyone,
My name is Katie, and I’m fundraising on behalf of the Son and whanau as they face an unimaginable situation.
A few days ago, David Roe went missing after being swept away in a river during severe storm conditions in the Ōpōtiki region. Search and Rescue teams have already been attempting search and rescue missions, but the conditions have been extremely challenging due to major flooding, landslides, and damage to access roads. The area is extremely isolated, and there is currently no safe way in or out except by helicopter.
His son and family has travelled from Auckland to Ōpōtiki to be as close to the search area as possible and to support on the ground.
I am whanau and Liam Roe is David Roes son and is the next of kin
🚁 $1,200 each time the helicopter is in the air that includes food supplies aswell 350kg max per flight
