Raising funds to get Aliti from Treasure House Orphanage in Fiji a new Mobility Chair
Auckland
Last year I met Aliti at Treasure House Orphanage in Fiji. She is this vibrant, cheerful, beautiful 15 year old lady who loves to sing!! She is so engaging and loves a good laugh.
Aliti also has cerebral palsy and relies on a mobility chair. This chair is a big part of Aliti's life, and unfortunately has really deteriorated over the years. The head rest has come loose, and the seat she sits on has become quite hollow. It's quite hard to move around and needs to be replaced. Please refer to the photos in the Gallery. Despite all these discomforts, Aliti always has the biggest smile on her face when you go visit her.
Ulamila Cakau is the Manager at Treasure House Orphanage, and is graciously looking for any assistance in getting Aliti a new chair. Which leads us to this page!
I am raising funds to buy her a brand new wheelchair. I am not sure how much this will cost and therefore will keep this open ended until I can determine exactly how much money we need. If we get enough money, I will look into getting an electric powered chair. Ulamila is currently looking for the ideal chair for Aliti and will advise me once she knows more. All donations received will go directly towards this new chair. Any left over money will be donated directly to Treasure House Orphanage, Fiji.
Ulamila Cakau is the manager at Treasure House Orphanage and can be contacted for any further details re: the orphanage or Aliti. The funds will go to Ulamila Cakau who is the manager of Treasure House Orphanage in Fiji. She will used the funds to buy a mobility chair. If the appropriate mobility chair is unavailable in Fiji (Ulamila is currently shopping for it in Fiji), then I will purchase the chair here in Nz using the funds raised. I am going to Fiji in July for a medical conference, I will give them the funds then (or the chair).

I am involved because I can't change the world. But I can change the world for one child.
I know, I know! That's super cheesy! But sometimes the world needs "cheesy". (That's also cheesy lol). Come make a difference with me!
