Help Debbie Get a mobility Dog

$670 of $4,000 goal
Given by 10 generous donors in 5 weeks

for a mobility dog to help me in everyday task inside and outside the home and to keep me safe in the community

Auckland

I have been granted a mobility dog to assist me in my everyday living at home and in the community, the dog will also help me with emergencies if I need my medication, get help or the phone if I fall, it will help with shoes, if I drop things pick them up, help me get the washing to the line and bring it in, opening doors, closing them, pressing crossing signal buttons generally be my right hand person. etc. I need to get to know the dog and learn the commands for the dog to assist me, also it is a time for the dog to get to know me and refine any training to suit my personal needs. This requires a 2 week period in training at a camp in Takanini so instructors are there to train me and the dog to work together. This camp provides all my meals and accommodation so I have the dog trainers on hand 24/7 to help me. The camp is an essential part of getting a mobility dog and everyone has to attend it it to get the training needed to utalize the full potential of the dogs training and assisting me for a better quality of life

Use of funds

These funds will be used for sending me on a 2 week training camp which teaches me how to use the commands with the dog and for the dog and myself to get to know each other. It also gives instructors time to specialize the dogs training specific to me

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
