Cancer Surgery for Mollie the OP Shop Dog

  • Mollie the Fighter

      26 April 2024

Mollie had her surgery this week on Tuesday 23rd, April. It was a very long procedure but she is recovering far better than I could ever hoped for. She stayed overnight after the surgery. I brought her home yesterday. The first thing she did was eat the cats food and bring me her ball. Next to people and food her ball is her life. She has a huge collection and knows many of them by individually. If I ask for her big red ball she will bring back that ball. I missed her so much that night. Four mast cell tumours were removed with wide margins taken. Her wonderful vet at Southern Rangitikei Vets in Bulls seemed positive but only time will tell. Now we wait for the biopsy result which will determine the grade of Mollie's cancer. Grade 1 is the most desirable and would mean Mollie could live a normal life span. Today Mollie had the drain removed from the biggest incision. She is feeling much happier. She will return tomorrow week for the stitches to be removed of which there are numerous. Mollie is missing going to work and seeing all her many friends.
