Mom on the Mound Update
18 April 2024Thank you so much to those who have donated and continue to. My season finished the best way possible this March. Our team in Christchurch , PCU, are now National Club Tournament Champions! It was an awesome tournament I’ll never forget, especially having my dad fly to NZ to watch. I was also awarded tournament top pitcher.
The long season presented a few hurdles, including a back injury. With a lot of time spent getting mirimiri, chiropractic work and a recovery plan I walked away from the season with a few awards.
Unfortunately, I was not named in the WSX squad but instead, offered a contract to play in Germany during NZ off season.
This give-a-little is to help with the cost of flights to and from Christchurch from September to March 2023-24
Original summary: My goal is to further my career to the top New Zealand national teams in the form of playing and coaching(youth teams). Unfortunately women’s softball is not funded even at the highest level. Currently, I am at a club in Christchurch. There are two main reasons I have moved to this club; firstly, this club is in a competitive league and has the coaching and tools I need to move forward and secondly, it strengthens my connections nationally within the softball league.. My job is still connected to the Waikato where I stay to develop locally and give back by developing the game within communities. I come to you asking for help which will cover the cost in travel for this season.
