My grandmother’s treatment
Auckland
My grandmother is currently fighting colon cancer and began her first chemotherapy session on December 30, 2025. She still needs five more sessions to continue her treatment. Unfortunately, the medication she urgently requires—Panitumumab—is not available at the hospital where she is currently admitted. Because her cancer has already metastasized to other parts of her body, this medication is essential to her care.
As a result, our family in the Philippines has been forced to search for a private supplier and cover the cost ourselves. Access to healthcare in the Philippines remains limited, and life-saving treatments like this are often unaffordable for many families. We are reaching out for support to help ensure that my grandmother can continue her chemotherapy and receive the treatment she desperately needs.
