Help My Son Israel Go on His First School Trip!

Hi, my name is Israel Walters. I’m 16 and a student at Totara College, a small Christian school in Dannevirke.

For the past year, my French class has been planning a school trip to Tahiti -- we were originally going to New Caledonia, but plans changed. Since then, we’ve been fundraising, and now that the trip is coming up later this year, it’s time to start paying.

I’m doing everything I can to cover my share. I’ve been trying hard to find a job, but it’s tough since I live half an hour out of town, basically in the middle of nowhere. Thankfully, some fundraiser money helps, but I still need around $1,250 to make it happen.

While in Tahiti, we’ll do activities like surfing, a scavenger hunt, and a French language challenge. We’ll also be hosted by local families for 4 days and attend a French school. It’s my first -- and last -- school trip, and I really want to make the most of it with my friends.
