A new ‘space’ and up to date facilities are essential if we are to future proof Moriah for future generations.
Wellington
Moriah Kindergarten is where many children begin their lifelong learning journey. They get a quality preschool education, build lasting friendships and go on to become integral members of the Jewish and wider local community.
Our families all agree that Moriah is a wonderful place — but for us to stay viable into the future and continue to provide a great start for children in our community, we urgently need to update our indoor and outdoor space. With another early childhood centre moving in downstairs, now more than ever the pressure is on to modernise our facilities so we are able to survive in a competitive world.
To keep Moriah thriving into the future, it’s vital to think ahead about what the centre needs most. We have to be sustainable, and we have to future proof our facilities. Sadly, our current space is no longer fit for purpose — it just doesn’t offer adequate facilities for our children to enjoy the range of activities and creative play we strive to offer. We urgently need funding to build:
• A space to cook for birthdays, Shabbat, festivals and just for fun!
• An area for singing and storytelling
• A space for older children
• A sleeping area
• An art area
• Wall space that our children can cover with their learnings and creativity
• A purpose-built outdoor space for our children to enjoy and explore.
We need to offer a modern, flexible space that will encourage families to choose Moriah as their early childhood centre, now and into the future. If we don’t complete this vital work, we simply can’t remain viable, and it will become increasingly difficult to attract new families to our centre.
Moriah gives the littlest members of our community the best possible start in life. With your help, we can future proof our space and continue to offer a first class educational service for many years to come. Please donate to ensure a brighter future for the children in our community.
The parents committee is committed to raising the funds needed to develop and rebuild the kindergarten.
Moriah Kindergarten is a truly unique place. We are a community based centre where children from all cultures come together to share our special character. What sets us apart is our balance of structured and free play within a warm and caring family-like environment.
Our Moriah values guide our actions in the way we relate to others and the world around us, and are infused throughout our whole curriculum.
