Morrinsville Art Gallery Charitable Trust

Morrinsville, Waikato

In our 2024 Annual Appeal, which runs from June to July, we aim to raise $50,000 from donations. Your donation is crucial to the sustainability of Morrinsville Gallery. We need to raise $ 152,000 annually to keep the gallery running.

The majority of our funding is derived from grants, donations, subscriptions, and sponsorships, as the Gallery is free to the public and does not receive funding from the central government. We deeply appreciate the significant contribution from MPDC and are profoundly grateful for their ongoing support.

The board of trustee's chair, Graham Shortland, explains, "The Morrinsville Gallery relies entirely on grants and donations to cover its running costs. The Gallery has run at a small loss for the last two financial years and is running low on cash reserves. We are continuously applying for grants to cover running costs. We are now seeking support from the Morrinsville community to help raise money so the Gallery can continue its excellent work. Every dollar donated will help to keep the gallery functioning.”

The Morrinsville Art Gallery Charitable Trust is the leading art gallery in the Matamata-Piako District, run by one paid staff member and 33 volunteers. We promote a vibrant environment for all locals and visitors to Morrinsville and the Mighty Waikato Region, creating many opportunities for our community to connect within an art context.
