Raising money to help ease the stress of Tui during such unforeseen circumstances
Waikato
Tui McGeorge is a 25 year old daughter, sister, aunty and an amazing mother to three beautiful girls.
In 2016 Tui was faced with the hardest year of her life. She lost her mother Tania first to cancer and her older brother Te Ahu not long after to suicide.
Tania and Te Ahu were Tui's main support system while raising her three daughters as a young single mum. Losing them was not only hard on Tui but also on her entire family. After the death of her brother Tui suffered from PTSD and struggled to deal with daily life. If you have had to deal with the loss of someone close to you by suicide you will understand that suicide has a major effect on the mental health of those left behind. One year on Tui is finally starting to find her feet again, settling her girls into a new school and a new, more positive environment and focusing on keeping a strong bond with Te Ahu's two young children. Although Tui has been faced with a wave of different emotions such as anger, resentment, confusion, distress, guilt and failure. She is starting to feel the need to move forward from these emotions and focus on building a future for her young family.
Before Tui can move forward with life she feels she needs to give her mother and brother a headstone and the unveiling they both deserve.
One of my closest friends has had a very hard year with the loss of her mother and brother in 2016. She is now faced with the cost of their unavailing and i would like to help take some of the pressure off her
The funds raised will help pay for the headstones for Te Ahu and Tania. They will help bring Te Ahu and Tania's close family and friends together in Late march to unveil the headstones and enjoy a meal while sharing all the beautiful memories they have.
