Mother diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in need of treatment

My beautiful mum has always been so active, full of life, selfless and loving. She has been the best mother to me and the most amazing nanny to my babies. Everything happened so suddenly it has shocked and crippled our family.

3 weeks ago after countless visits to her doctor, she had a scan after being worried about ‘lumps’ on her back and other areas, she was called in that day to the hospital and then received the news she had cancer.

After her biopsy results, it was confirmed she had stage 4 melanoma.

We were so saddened but all staying strong, Mum noticed she was getting headaches and they did a scan on her brain to check if it had gone to her brain - which it has.

She will be having two separate rounds of different treatments, one being Keytruda, and the other Ipilimumab which is not funded and is $20,000 per treatment.

Our family will do anything to help my mum, but we are in need of help with her non funded treatment.

Like many of you, especially within a short period of three weeks thinking your mums healthy and everything is fine to being shocked with something like this - you just don’t expect it and will do anything you can to help quality of life and pray for the best results.

Even if it’s just as little as $5 everything will help, I want nothing more than my mum to see myself and my siblings get married, and continue to share some quality of life at the least with her husband, grandchildren and our family.
