Mothers and Children in the Masjid

We need your help in creating a safe, inclusive space for our growing Muslim population in Auckland New Zealand, especially for our beloved sisters and children!

Masjid at-Taqwa is a mosque, community centre and Islamic da'wah organisation in Auckland, New Zealand.

We are blessed with an ever-growing congregation of worshippers that we want to better serve by adding a mezzanine floor to the masjid. Our goal is to provide additional room for our community and add a safe, comfortable area for our sisters and especially new mothers, so they can attend the masjid with ease and privacy.

How Will the Community Benefit from the Project?

With your donation, you will serve:

- First of its kind mothers’ and toddlers' room in any New Zealand masjid where new mothers get the chance to attend the masjid with while minimising disturbance to others due to babies' crying.

- Upgrade of the women’s wudoo area with proper washing stations instead of mere hand basins

- Establishment of a ladies online education hub

- New ladies entrance from the rear car park rather than off the main road, to provide safety and security for sisters and children

- Learning opportunities and Islamic education through At-Taqwa Training Academy

- Classrooms for children's classes

- Extended prayer area for up to 150 additional worshippers when masjid is full

- Flexible multi-purpose space to be used during Eids, Islamic events

- Renovated and fully equipped media room to produce engaging da’wah content
