Three mates running the mototapu marathon in memory of our mate Mark Parker who was a victim of the Bali bombing
Canterbury
The Mark Parker memorial trust raises money in the memory of Mark who was tragically killed in the Bali bombing in 2002. The trust was formed to provide scholarships to further the education of young New Zealanders who have demonstrated potential to enhance the quality of New Zealand society through leadership in areas of interest including but not limited to business, sport, art, music, education, law, accounting, politics or community service.
Each year a pupil from Timaru Boys High School is awarded a scholarship to Winchester College in England. Former recipients include New Zealand Shot Putter Tom Walsh.
Jonny Brett and Hayden attended Timaru Boys High School with Mark and this year are running the mototapu marathon between Glendhu Bay and Arrowtown in his memory.
