On the 25th June, 2024, after many challenges and milestones, Diverse Building and Developments started construction on our new Playcentre at Golf Road, Mount Maunganui.

Since then, significant progress has been made including foundations, framing and planting out the roadside mara (garden) by our tamariki.

Thank you to our relocation committee for their continued efforts and the many businesses who have supported us along the way.

We are looking forward to moving into our new Playcentre by the end of 2024.

Keen to help us cross the finishing line? We still require $100,000 to complete our landscaping, playground and outdoor areas at our new Centre. You can support us by

making a donation here or contributing to our wishlist of resources https://www.hintregistry.co.nz/browse/mountplaycentre

To ensure our tamariki get to enjoy a playground, pathways, kai gardens, and landscaping this summer at Mount Maunganui Playcentre, please donate to our Givealittle page now. And share with your family and friends too, who may be in a position to lend a hand.

If you would like to sponsor our relocation project, please visit www.mtplaycentre.co.nz.

We look forward to sharing more updates as our build progresses in the coming months.

E waka eke noa - we are all in this together!

    Kia ora everyone,

    Exciting news for our project!

Thanks to the support of people like you, we have raised enough funds to commence construction of our brand-new Playcentre at Golf Road Reserve, Mount Maunganui. Civil works started last week, with the build scheduled to begin in November!

We are now reaching out to our community to help us with one more push to get us across our fundraising finish line! $125,000 is still required to complete the project, including landscaping and the provision of a wonderful new outdoor playground for our tamariki. Can you or your business help?

Please get behind Mount Maunganui Playcentre and help us get this exciting project to the finish line so our community can enjoy our beautiful new centre. Remember, families or businesses who donate $1000 or more will have their name featured on our special sponsor wall at our new centre. To keep up to date with our project, head over to our social media pages. Thanks, once again for your support!

Arohanui from all the families at Mount Maunganui Playcentre.

  • Relocation Update

While the tamariki have been playing this term, there has been some great work going on behind the scenes from our relocation committee and we have some incredible milestones to report.

    - Resource consent has been granted from Tauranga City Council (TCC) for our new site at Golf Road Reserve.

    - Building consent was lodged with TCC in March and is currently being processed.

    - Playcentre Aotearoa have contributed extra support to our relocation.

    - The new centre design has been out for tender and we have received competitive tenders. The relocation committee intends to appoint a main contractor by the end of June 2023.

    - TCC are progressing tender of the civil works, which are required to be completed on site before building commences.

    - We have a draft Playground design finalised. Feedback will be sought by all members in the coming days so please keep an eye out.

    - A Network Approval process is being worked through with the Ministry of Education (MoE) to ensure our opening in Term One, 2024.

    - And finally - the total funds raised towards our new centre is now $1.06M! A wonderful and incredible milestone!

As you can see, there has been some exciting developments and an incredible fundraising milestone reached - which as a whole centre we can be extremely proud of! A huge thank you to our past and existing relocation committee members who have been working hard and holding steady behind the scenes to maintain progress on this complex project.
