Move Murphy Home

This page is fundraising to get our dog from Beijing to New Zealand.

Murphy is a shelter dog in Beijing. When he was less than a year old he was hit by a car. Fortunately, he was found some time later by an animal shelter worker.

His leg was then amputated. He has been in the shelter ever since. He is four years old now. That's three years in a shelter.

Murphy stayed with us in Beijing for 6 months. In that time he went from being unable to walk down a street without freezing and refusing to move to walking freely.

He spent every night right next to me in bed. Murphy has very little chance of ever being adopted in Beijing, with one of the main reasons that he only has three legs - this apparently is something that turns people off him.

We really hope Murphy can come home to New Zealand so he can spend the rest of his life in a loving home with people he is settled and comfortable with.

He would get to swim, play on the beach, have a backyard to run in - all for the first time in his life. With it so unlikely he would ever get adopted in Beijing, his chance of a great life is in New Zealand.
