Scruffy Murphy is a friendly 3 legged shelter dog from Beijing who needs your help to move to NZ
Auckland
This page is fundraising to get our dog from Beijing to New Zealand.
Story has it when Murphy was less than a year old he was hit by a car. Fortunately, he was found some time later by an animal shelter worker. His leg was then amputated. He has been in the shelter ever since. He is four years old now. That's three years in a shelter.
Murphy was fostered by us in Beijing for 6+ months while we attempted to help find him a home in Beijing to live in for the rest of his life. In that time he began to feel like our dog! However we knew it would be too hard to send him to NZ.
He had very little chance of ever being adopted in Beijing, with one of the main reasons that he only has three legs. After many failed attempts at finding him a new home we decided to try bring him back to NZ so he can spend the rest of his life in a loving home with people he is settled and comfortable with.
He will get to swim, play on the beach, chase seagulls and have a backyard to run in - all for the first time in his life.
Currently he is in Malaysia mid way through the 6 month quarantine period which is a legal requirement when sending a dog from non-approved country. Because of these laws this is a long, difficult and (where you can help) very expensive process.
Thank you!
