Havelock Vision 2020 is delighted to be involved with the 2019 Muddy Buddy.

Marlborough

Havelock Vision 2020 overlaps the Havelock Community Association’s geographical area by providing services that encompass Black Ball and Cape Horn to the North West, Cullen Point to the North East, Mahakipawa ridgeline to the East and Mt Takorika to the West. The Trust acknowledges however, that they often work beyond these boundaries as they see these outer areas of rai Valley, Canvastown and Linkwater as being “feeder” areas to the main township of Havelock.

The trustees endeavour to enhance and empower the community by facilitating a collective vision and providing access to information and resources, encouraging networking, assisting community groups with strategic planning, development and funding and encouraging external agencies to engage locally. Above all, the trust attempts to encourage, facilitate and support community projects relating to the collective social, cultural, recreational and environmental wellbeing.

Currently, the trust oversees several health and wellbeing initiatives such as “Tumble Tots”, Tai Chi lessons, the Havelock Health Expo: it also administers the Pelorus FM Radio Station and organises the annual Bonfire Night, to name just a few of its initiatives.

Havelock Vision 2020 is delighted to be working in partnership with Sport Tasman. The Trust’s Chair, Barbara Faulls, says that Sport Tasman’s offer to make the charity a beneficiary of the 2019 Marlborough Muddy Buddy will potentially be a huge boost for the local area.

Whilst the trustees aim to consult the community on a regular basis, the ability to utilise the skills of the Sport Tasman staff will enable local youth to be surveyed about their needs. It is envisaged that some sort of event will be run for the community in the future and the trustees will continue working towards realising the community’s vision for a diverse range of amenities and opportunities.

Sport Tasman is “looking forward to collaborating with such an active group on the Muddy Buddy Event and are calling for all participants to support this worthy cause. Online fundraising has never been easier and if every person taking part raised just $20 through asking friends and family and colleagues to sponsor them to complete this muddy challenge, we could affect real change in the region that would benefit all residents”

Havelock Vision 2020 aims to focus any funds raised on initially assisting with fundraising to upgrade the community swimming facilities.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
