When the World has finally broken mum

Northland

Why?

They say a mother is the spine upon which the family rests. then I ask you why?

Why pile more and more stuff on my back to the point where the back has broken?

Why keep putting stuff on the back that holds you up, when you can clearly see the fractures that are already there?

Why must mum be both nurturer and provider?

Even when there is a man in the house?

Why has it gotten to the point that mum has gotten sick and yet she walks down to the local dairy and buys her family their preferred fizzy drink to help with their clogged up throats and heads, 1.5l coke 1.5l Sprite 1.5l Fanta and a 2.5l L&P (total of 1.8 gallons).

She also picks up a 10kg bag (22pounds for those who use that denomination) of potatoes for supper. She then walks home with all that. She is also sick with what her family has but she is mum, she must be strong.

She get home to cook dinner in the slow cooker so that her family is fed. She finds that the $50 she invested in canning mixed veges for this kind of thing her children have popped NEARLY ALL the jars. (she spent an entire day canning those veges. JUST LAST WEEK!!!.

Mum carries on, makes up the slow cooker with dinner for her family.

Then it happens:

The back has been shattered.

She learns that her son and a friend were playing and throwing each others bags around, unknown to her son... his friend had a Chromebook in his bag, she now has to pay $550 for a new Chromebook and her son is angry that mum is buying his friend a new Chromebook but refuses to buy him a new one after his broke earlier in the year.

WHY?

Why must you break mums back?

Why must you break mums heart?

WHY MUST YOU BREAK MUM?

Mum is broken.

Use of funds

To pay for all the things that are dragging mum down. Maybe there will be enough to help glue some of mum together again.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
