Covid19 has hit the world very hard. This is no different in South Africa. People who could still find 'piece-jobs' pre-covid are now not able to at all. Therefore we are extremely grateful for your contributions toward this feeding scheme. May God bless you for your kindness.

Hi Brenda, I went to make a donation but the page said it was closed. Is this true?

The tireless group of volunteers that week-in and week-out spend energy, time and effort to fundraise, prepare and provide meals to people who are less fortunate than most of us, deserve a majestic high five!! Here is another days work in one shot. Thank you for the contributions that make this possible.

  • THANK YOU!

      17 August 2020

I am humbled by the donations we have received to help the people living in Pongocamp, Munzieville. A generous anonymous donation, made from the Netherlands, another from Texas and some from locals (NZ) who prefer not to be mentioned, makes my heart leap with gratitude and joy. It does not go unnoticed, guys. May God bless you!

It is better to give than to receive. How true are these words in countless ways! I would like to thank the people who contribute toward this cause. Yes, I know we can't feed all the hungry people in SAfrica, let alone the world. So why bother? Because YOU are reaching real people in real time and making a real difference with every donation you give. So, thank you to one and all for giving!!

Our contribution helps keeping people in good spirits and giving a message of hope! The people of Munsieville are very grateful for your help. The photos in the collage in this update was taken Thursday 2 July 2020. On the menu was a hearty stew on rice! Thank you to all our gracious donors!

The whole world is suffering with Covid 19 and it's effects. South Africa is now becoming an epicentre as the outbreak there is quickly getting worse! We are not able to grab this virus by it's neck and chuck it in the trash, as we would like to. But we all know that healthy people are better equipped to withstand it. Our blessing is to be able to bless hungry people with a hearty meal. Thank you to one and all for your ongoing support. I would like to say a very special thanks to Rudi Stander from Rand Group for his immense contributions.

Here the squatters prepare the meals for themselves and others in the squatter camp. Money we raise fund the ingredients that are feeding up to 400 individuals at a time. God has made a way!

Covid19 sure has caused several glitches in providing food for the needy in squatter camps. I am very happy to inform our supporters, donors and sponsors that it has not stopped our service provision in Munsieville. For one week only the soup kitchen had to be closed. It is fully operational, feeding children and elderly daily. Once per week other adults are also provided with a hearty meal. Food parcels are provided where applicable. PLEASE KEEP US IN YOUR HEARTS AND PRAYERS. IF YOU CAN PLEASE DONATE! You can make a difference. Your dollar makes a world of difference in SA. Thank you very much to everybody who finds it in there hearts to give!

Thank you Brenda! It was so good to catch up with some of those living there, who are benefiting from the food. Soup will be great over the winter months!

Soupkitchens had to stop, because of Covid19. In stead hampers were provided with food items. In the light of the health threat I have agreed that some cleaning products could also be provided. Organisers will continue to provide food parcels as money becomes available.

Hello Brenda! I am so excited to find your page! My husband and I were living in Jo'berg from 2016-18 and visiting Pangocamp, Munsieville. I know some of those faces in your photos!!

We are back in NZ now and would love to help. We love those people! Let me know how please. Janet Crozier

Hi Janet! Now this is an absolute wonderful message to receive. I would love to chat to you about possibilities. At the moment my biggest concern is lack of donations for the provision of food and hygiene materials. With the covid19 financial strain the trickle we had before is drying up. I need help getting donations, please!

  • Please help me!

I have been asking for help feeding people in a squatter camp from the area where I come from in SA. Some people have kindly supported my cause. Way more have not. Thank you very, very much to those who have - you are pearls! Thank you even more to the three supporters who have donated repeatedly. I humbly ask for more people to become donor, regular donors, please. I struggle with the knowledge that needy go hungry, when we can make a difference by giving a little. Please don't look the other way.

  • Giving is a gift!

I am grateful for a life free of persecution and poverty. I am blessed to live in freedom. How do you say thank you? I don't have words to express my gratitude for all I have. So I ask you to help me feed a group of people in South Africa who know hunger all too well. Nobody should go hungry. We can't feed all the poor people in the world. But we can feed these, because we have hands on the ground right there, amongst them. Whatever you can give, will feed a hungry tummy at least one hearty meal a week. Thank you for not looking the other way.

There are about 200 tummies in the Munzieville squattercamp that get fed by a group of diligent people, who are our hands in SA. Our contributions are helping to make a difference to the lives of so many people, mainly children. Thank you for your support in this effort

At the end of 2019, 400 people were given an unforgettable experience!! On this day they received three meals - something they have not experienced before. The organisers provided breakfast in the form of hotdogs and soup. (It was a rainy day.) Lunch was boerewors stew, chicen pasta, rice and vegies. Dinner was vetkoek and mince. This was the annual Christmas Fun Day. I am grateful to say that this time we got to contribute!! Every child received a gift. All day long there were cupcakes, chips, lollies, icies, cool drinks available.

This being said, I would like to thank one and all of you who have made this possible. Your contribution made a difference! Please continue to do so. Remember every dollar counts! If you haven't taken the opportunity to donate, please do so now! This is one way in which we can show gratitude for the abundance we have - by helping those in need! I thank you from te bottom of my heart!
