Murray's Close Shave

$1,940 of $5,000 goal
Given by 32 generous donors in 5 weeks

I'm going to shave off my much loved and often admired beard and hair, for two charities; Cool Earth and Tahu Hikuroa.

Canterbury

As some of you may know, Tahu has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. The money raised will go directly to Tahu to help support him, his wife and children at this difficult time.

The majority of the funds raised will be going to Tahu, but I also need to raise $1000 for a charity in India called 'Cool Earth', which I'm also supporting by taking part in a tuk-tuk race across India.

Cool Earth's main goal is to work with indigenous villagers throughout India and work toward stopping deforestation.

Murray Picken's involvement (page creator)

I haven't had a hair cut in three years so when I heard of my friend Tahu's diagnosis, I decided that it would be a good opportunity to raise some money and awareness for his cause and that of Cool Earth.

Use of funds

The first $1000 will be going directly to Cool Earth.

Anything over the first $1000 will go directly to Tahu and his family - this money will be used mainly as relief whilst Tahu is unable to work (bills, fuel, groceries etc)
