Murray's Stolen Scooter Story
Help my dad get his mobility back after his scooter was stolen.
Newtown, Wellington
You may recognise my Dad. He is a notorious scooter speedster, Newtown Peoples Coffee's most regular customer and can be found having a sleep in the sun on one of Oriental bay's many benches. Unfortunately, Dad's beloved scooter got stolen last week from outside his rest home while it was charging overnight. It was not a fancy scooter, it was not an expensive scooter. It was simply my Dad's 'legs', his means of transportation, enabling him to get around , enjoy Wellington and socialise.
He's reported the theft to the police but alas no scooter has been found.
As a family, we can't afford to get dad a new one, so he is now hobbling slowly and arduously down to the library and his favourite coffee shop.
It's Dad's birthday on the 19th of December and I would love to be able to gift him his mobility back.
