Bay of Plenty
On October 3rd 2014 my daughter Arihana was brutally assaulted, she has lost her sight in both eyes. She is following her dreams and is currently in her 2nd year of study, she will have her Diploma in Contemporary Music very soon at just 17. She has composed many songs, however 1 in particular has inspired many, as she speaks the truth about violence and has said what many woman would like to say. She is brave and courageous to speak such truths. I want to help my daughter achieve all that she can, regardless of what she has endured, she is still here and she willing to share with the world x
As a result of this she is now legaly blind. She has minimal sight, both eyes have different vision loss. She can only see shadows and vague shapes. With technology she is able to zoom in and use a molibe or tablet to see or record to play back so she can see her class work or our faces
Her sight loss didnt stop her from goin to X FACTOR NZ audiotions. She wore her White Ribbon in support of other victims and aldo to show she has the confidence to continue with her dreams. To tell her story thru song and to share these songs with the world.
its been 9months now. And she is currently in her 2nd year at Polytechnic. Study is hard without technology. As her mother Its a struggle to watch her frustration.
I have collected quotes for equipment and software which total approximately $8000.
This includes a large touch screen computer. Software to write and create and record songs. A large Windows Tablet and protective accessories. Hardware to enable recoding. Its been a long process and stil Arihana has no technology to assit her in her studies or chosen career. To have these items would enable Arihana to lay solid foundations before she starts out on her new path in life, any donations will all go towards her achieving her dreams.

I am Arihana's mother, I am a single mum, who encourages my children to seek out their dreams and make them reality xo
