My Bichon needs a little help!

Meet my Shadow, a 4 yr old Bichon. I’ve had since he was 8 weeks old and my best friend and most loyal companion. I noticed a small lump kind of like a skin tag on his belly while I was bathing him when he was 3 but I didn’t think anything of it as it really didn’t seem to bother him. Last year I had to go away for a while for work and left him with my son whom also had 2 miniature Jack Russell’s so I knew he would be in safe hands. On my return, I noticed the lump had got extremely larger, the size of a golf ball. And it really started to annoy him to the point of constantly licking it and causing it to bleed. So, recently as last week I took him to the Vet to examine the lump. A biopsy was taken and the worry of waiting for the results of whether it’s a Benign or Malignant tumour was very worrisome. I got the results yesterday and thankfully it is a Benign Tumour. The sense of relief was amazing. If it was malignant I would have had a hard decision whether to put him down rather than suffer a slow death even after removal. To make things worse, the day after his vet visit. He wandered off the property and was picked up by dog control and spent the night in dog jail. After just paying the Vet bill, I also had to pay a few more hundred dollars to release him. Now his surgery to remove the tumour is between $1600-$2400. With what I just paid on him, it will take me several months to save that amount. I don’t think I’ll be able to keep him from annoying his lump for that long.
