To tell some of Mike and Millie's story and to raise $$ for Mike's funeral costs.

Waikato

Imagine being happily married, raising a family of seven, adventuring through life, making the most of every opportunity, planning what the future looks like, making goals and reaching them together, nurturing and supporting your kids as they grow into young people, laughing and playing together, working hard but loving hard too.....

And then being side-swiped by a Cancer diagnosis that rocks your world and makes life as you once knew it one distant and luxurious memory.

It happened to Millie. And it happened to the beautiful kids that her and Mike produced and raised together. Mike's diagnosis was unforeseen. But from the moment they were told the 'C' word, Mike battled one admirable fight. So much so that just moments before his actual passing his Doctor still called him 'Fighter' - a nickname coined by those in his medical realm because he had a never-give-up attitude and spirit that lasted the distance, right up until his very last breath just under a week ago.

But Millie herself is a fighter. The extents she has gone to throughout this journey to help her dear husband have extended bounds that most would never consider. She has visited every single rabbit hole possible, thoroughly and vigorously. She ensured he got the absolute best treatment possible - both from the medical and natural worlds. To say it was a frustrating one would be an understatement, and as Millie came to understand and realise, there is SO much more to the picture of cancer and the treatment of it than anyone dares venture. So Millie tried to find and uncover those places herself. She, herself, is one extraordinary human being.

And now Millie is left with the brutal reality of life beyond Mike - much of which is unknown, and i can't imagine how scary. The immediate thoughts need to go to Mike's funeral costs. Mike had no insurance or cover. And his funeral cover still has a while until it too can be released. Every cent of his kiwi saver was used in his treatment.

So this page is her hope that in lieu of flowers, gifts or other sympathy paraphernalia, that friends, family, supporters, local communities, and beautiful-hearted people will donate a few of their $$$ towards the funeral costs for Mike.

If you could meet Millie, you'd understand what i mean when i say she's a 'walking heart'. It is my hope that people will find the generous spirit that resides inside them to spare not just a thought for what she's going through, but a few $$ to help relieve her of the financial part of the burden she's having to currently wear.

From my own heart, thank you xx

I have had the honour of supporting Mike and Millie through Mike's cancer journey. Millie has asked for my assistance in helping them raise funds to support the next step in their life now that Mike has left our world x

Use of funds

The $$$ raised will go towards immediate expenses in the funeral costs, plus any ongoing expenses for Millie while raising their family on her own.
